New Zealand’s Wet Wings bring their globally praised sound of consoling, uneasy, familiar and harmonic songs to Melbourne this January. The duo have received widespread critical acclaim including being a favourite on Gorillavsbear.net with their recently released limited-edition cassette, Skin to Soil, on US label, Infinity Tapes. Darian and Lucy are coming to safer terrain (sans earthquakes) this summer to headline a very special free show at Bar Open with local supports Otouto (fresh from their US tour) and The Ancients on Thursday 13th Jan. They’ll also be appearing at The Workers Club on Fri 14th Jan with Tiger Choir (TAS), Tantrums and Parking Lot Experiments. The band rounding up their tour supporting Mountain Man (USA) at The Toff in Town] on Saturday 15th January. With a live show full of vocal looping , Wet Wings form a choral backdrop for pastoral waltzes, electronic yearning and folk storytelling, get in before they take off.
