Ylem

Ylem: Primordial substance from which all matter was formed. Ylem is a producer and DJ who creates as part of the music/art collective The Community, which has contributed to underground culture in Perth by providing a platform for local talent. YLEM’s experimental production reflects his taste for the emerging future beat sub-genres. The eclectic array of hypnotic beats he produces span dubstep/future/psyche/trip-hip-hop creating new auditory spaces.

"I Got the name ARAAB was back in 02…My nigga had gave me that name ‘cause I didn’t have an alias or nothing like that nam sayin so I ran with it. In 05 I added the MUZIK ‘cause that's what you're listening to when you hear my muzik Araab Muzik" "My influences growing up were pretty much based on the producers. I didn't really listen to the artist ‘cause that wasn't my thing. If the beat caught my attention then I would like the song nam sayin. The beat is pretty much what everyone listens to first then the artist."

Salamander

There are several bands with that name: 1. Minneapolis outfit Salamander began as a duo in the summer of 1992 featuring Erik Wivinus and Sean Connaughty on guitars and vocals. They played mostly mellow drone-based instrumentals that in retrospect sounded much like contemporaries Labradford or Low. Doug Morman joined on bass in early 1993. They recorded and played gigs as a drummer-less trio until Bryce Kastning joined on drums and keyboards in early 1994.
