Mayer Hawthorne (real name Andrew Mayer Cohen) grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and vividly remembers, as a child, driving with his father and tuning the car radio in to the rich soul and jazz history the region provided. “Most of the best music ever made came out of Detroit,” claims the singer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, who counts Isaac Hayes, Leroy Hutson, Mike Terry, and Barry White among his influences, but draws the most inspiration from the music of Smokey Robinson, Curtis Mayfield and the legendary songwriting and production trio of Lamont Dozier...

Violence

Bow Wow

There are two artists with the name Bow Wow, for the Japanese hard rock/heavy metal act (see ＢｏｗＷｏｗ)
1. Shad Gregory Moss (born March 9, 1987 in Columbus, Ohio), better known by his stage name Bow Wow, is an American rapper and actor signed to Cash Money Records. He started rapping in 1993 and was noticed by rapper Snoop Dogg, who gave him his stage name then signed him to Death Row Records, and in 1998, at the age of eleven, Bow Wow was introduced to record producer Jermaine Dupri, who has since helped shape his career.

Tony Touch

Tony Touch, also known as Tony Toca, is an American hip hop DJ and producer from Brooklyn's Bushwick/ Knickerbocker section who is of Puerto Rican descent. He worked with many groups and rappers as Funkdoobiest, Cocoa Brovaz and Cypress Hill. He is known for his mix tapes. On The Peacemaker 2, Rubén Blades appears, as well as rappers and reggae dee jays such as P. Diddy, Hurricane G, Dead Prez, Slick Rick, Sean Paul, and reggaetón rapper Don Chezina, who also appeared on The Piecemaker.

Aloe Blacc

Egbert Nathaniel Dawkins III (born 1979 in Orange County, California), better known by the stage name Aloe Blacc, is an American soul singer, rapper and musician. He began his recording career as an MC back in 1995 when he joined up with hip-hop producer Exile to form the mainstay indie rap group Emanon. Aloe released his debut solo album Shine Through on Stonethrow Records in 2006 and followed this up in 2010 with Good Things.

Die Antwoord

Formed in Cape Town, South Africa during Spring 2009, Die Antwoord is an afrikaans futuristic rap crew consisting of Ninja (Watkin Tudor "Waddy" Jones of MaxNormal.TV) and Yo-Landi Vi$$er. DJ Hi-Tek keeps the beats nice and dirty. The majority of their debut album, $O$, was released for free on the Internet in 2009 - Ninja also handed out free albums with hand-drawn artwork at live shows called $O$: Burnt By the Master.

Like the rugged nature of their NSW homestead, Blue Mountains’ 4-man crew Thundamentals have forged their style from the peaks and valleys of traditional funk, soul, and Latin-based music. With the ink from their signatures just drying, the latest additions to the Obese Records stable are set to ride the wave of their upcoming self-titled label debut. Having come together during their formative years, Thundamentals developed their skills from the organic and nurturing Blue Mountains hip-hop scene, finding influence and inspiration from local artists Hermitude and Down Under Beats.

One of the original turntablists, J Rocc founded the Beat Junkies in 1992 with Melo-D and Rhettmatic, but has done just as much on his own as in a group setting. He began DJing in the mid-'80s with a California group named PSK. Soon after forming, the Beat Junkies became a seminal force in the rise of instrumental hip-hop, including core member Babu plus future stars Shortkut and D-Styles. Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi (born January 30, 1984 in Shaker Heights, Ohio, United States), better known by his stage name KiD CuDi, is a Grammy award nominated rapper and singer who first gained attention after the release of his debut mixtape a KiD named CuDi which he released in collaboration with New York street wear brand 10.Deep. The mixtape caught the attention of Kanye West and led to Cudi's signing to the G.O.O.D. Music Label.
