In 1992 Rampage landed his first recording deal with Dallas Austin on Rowdy / Arista Records and released Beware of the Rampsack. In 1994, he recorded Flava in Ya Ear (Remix) with Craig Mack, Notorious B.I.G., LL Cool J and Busta Rhymes. In 1996, he recorded the Platinum Single "Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check" with Busta Rhymes for the platinum album The Coming.
One year later he landed his second recording deal with Elektra Records and released his Gold solo LP Scouts Honor by Way of Blood.

After releasing several mixtapes and building substantial buzz online her debut album, Pink Friday, was released on November 22, 2010. In October 2010, Minaj became the first female rapper to have seven songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Salt-N-Pepa is an American rnb and hip-hop group, consisting of Cheryl James and Sandy Denton ("Salt" and "Pepa", respectively), and Deidre "Dee Dee" Roper (DJ Spinderella). They debuted with "The Show Stopper", a response record to Doug E. Fresh & Slick Rick's "The Show". It was an underground hit and Salt-N-Pepa signed to Next Plateau. Their debut LP was Hot, Cool & Vicious (1986, which was produced by Salt's then-boyfriend, Hurby Azor, the group's manager, and he received songwriting credit for the album, though this was later disputed.
