It’s been a year of tremendous growth for Sydney’s Breaking Orbit, on a personal and national scale.
From sold out headlining shows, supports with Australia’s best – Cog, Dead Letter Circus, MM9, many interstate trips; commencement of recording the debut album and the release of a 3-track single; to the loss of a founding member, split with management and countless other hurdles thrown in their way, Breaking Orbit have certainly had a year of exciting times and exceptional circumstances.
In May 2010, Breaking Orbit commenced work on the debut album at The Grove Studios (Silverchair, The Butterfly Effect) with producer Evan McHugh (Dead Letter Circus, MM9) and in-house producer Dylan Mitrovich.
The first instalment from this session was the 3-track ‘My Direction’ single released in August 2010. Sydney’s Drum Media described the new material ‘Precise Musicianship, gets surprisingly heavy’. Much like the tracks ‘Orion’ and Massive Attack cover ‘Dissolved Girl’...
