Nebulam

Start the new year with an afternoon of raw, nasty, groovy and hardcore metal at The Workers Club. Melbourne’s underground scene comes alive with the high energy and skull crushing sounds of PURE AUSSIE FILTH.

Nebulam brings their black hole sound of intense hardcore featuring brutal riffs, head-pounding drums and powerful screams. Making appearances are Frankston’s very own death/hardcore crossover False Dichotomy, as well as Melbourne nu-metal powerhouse Chazévo.

The Counterfeit

Gunslingers, bandidos, outlaws and the Wild West. The Counterfeit perform a dynamic collection of Italian soundtracks derived from the greatest Spaghetti Western flicks of the 1960’s and 70’s.

Featuring Ballarat’s most wanted woman ‘Freya Josephine Hollick’ on vocals, the 10-piece posse interprets iconic themes including The Good, the Bad & the Ugly, Ecstasy of Gold and Django, delivering a romantic backdrop for the perfect cinematic showdown.

After sold out shows at Thornbury Theatre, Brunswick Ballroom, Memo Music Hall and Theatre Royal, plus a headlining set at this year's Boogie Festival, the Melbourne posse are running hotter than a 10c pistol.

The band will be releasing their second album titled ‘14 Killer Bullets From The Spaghetti West - Volume 2’ with a show at Theatre Royal Castlemaine on November 25th, and 2 shows at Brunswick Ballroom (matinee + evening) on December 2nd, to launch the record. The infamous John McAll will be joining the posse for all 3 shows to dazzle the crowd during intermission with his blazing set of barrelhouse piano playing.

The Undertow

straight edge hardcore punk band from Seattle, Washington, active during the early and mid-1990s. They released material on Indecision Records, Bloodlink Records, Excursion Records and Overkill Records. Indecision Records released a comprehensive discography entitled Everything, which has 28 tracks spanning Undertow's entire active period with John Pettibone on vocals. RevHQ described them as 'founding fathers of Seattle straight edge'.

Botch

Legendary Tacoma, Washington mathcore/hardcore/metal band Botch have announced their first ever Australian tour for May 2024.

Bassist Brian Cook, guitarist David Knudson, drummer Tim Latona and vocalist Dave Verellen formed Botch in 1993, becoming one of the most ground-breaking and influential bands during a pivotal shift in heavy music, before splitting in 2002 at the height of their popularity. Their split made way for members to form and play in other highly notable and influential bands including Minus the Bear, These Arms Are Snakes, Narrows, SUMAC, Russian Circles and Torment & Glory.

The legend of Botch has grown over the past twenty years, but despite continued clamour from fans, there were no plans for the band to get back together.

Then, in August 2022, Botch released “One Twenty Two”, their first song in twenty years – the surprise drop lit the online metal world ablaze. The track’s two minutes of biting, twisting riffage brought Botch’s legacy to the forefront of fan’s minds again, with impeccable execution.

In October, just one day after announcing they would be playing two back to back shows at Seattle’s 1200-capacity Showbox, the band was shocked to see tickets for both nights sold out in just 13 seconds.

Now, their reunion has gifted fans a long-awaited Australian tour for May 2024.

What can fans expect from the reunification of this seminal act?

As The Stranger notes – at a typical Botch show during their prime, the band thrashed about on stage, yet somehow they always managed to nail all the minute intricacies. Since coming back together, they have been dedicated to making sure they could replicate what they became known for in the first place.

As David Knudson says:

“We don’t want to half-ass it…we want to be fucking tight as we ever were, if not tighter. We don’t want to disappoint a fan that’s never seen us live. So you know, it’s all in or nothing.”

There’s not much more that needs to be said. Botch. Is. Back.

Terminal Sleep

Terminal Sleep is about being a bad bitch. A heavy hardcore band shaped over the pandemic from Naarm (Melbourne), the five-piece writes fierce music with substance. Terminal Sleep approaches themes of self-empowerment, gender equality, animal rights, and mental health while taking no prisoners.

The band features recent Philippines transplant Dustin Santos in their lineup. Dustin was heavily involved in the Philippines hardcore punk scene playing in bands such as ArsonSmith, Magnum and Killratio. Dustin moved to New Zealand and is now living in Australia – no matter where he’s lived, he’s always been involved in the hardcore punk scene and attributes a lot of that to his early days in the Philippines.

‘Death Therapy’ encapsulates true disgust of human overconsumption and destruction of the earth as we know it. The song is fast and heavy – complete with a self-labelled ‘ignorant’ breakdown and dual pit call. ‘Death Therapy’ is accompanied by a music video filmed by Two Crooks Creative.

Their impressive debut is accompanied by the official announcement that the band have joined beastmode – an artist development & creative enterprise founded earlier this year by Candace Krieger and Joel Martorana.

“With no music out and no shows announced, we put Terminal Sleep on a show in Sydney purely from word of mouth. On the night, we knew we wanted to work with them before they’d even finished playing their first song.” says Krieger.
