Dole Manchild

Dole Manchild release their highly anticipated third EP 'NATURAL BORN CONTRARIAN' consisting of four new high-octane bangers; mixing hardcore, surf-punk and edm into an original art punk sound .

Kid Congo and The Pink Monkey Birds

From the early '80s onward, guitarist Kid Congo Powers (born Brian Tristan) was a distinctive presence at the nexus where roots music meets punk. Powers had memorable tenures with the Gun Club (which he co-founded with Jeffrey Lee Pierce), the Cramps, and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. However, while he was the instrumental half of the Congo Norvell duo in the '90s, Powers didn't consider stepping out as a frontman until 2005. That year, Powers released two solo albums, Philosophy and Underwear and Solo Cholo. As Powers began refining his skills as a songwriter and vocalist, he ramped up his recording and touring schedule, and formed a band to accompany him on his projects. Fusing primitive, swampy rock & roll, garage rock, and fractured blues with East L.A. Chicano rock and a dash of punk and psychedelia, Powers dubbed his new band the Pink Monkey Birds. The group initially featured Powers on guitar and vocals, Jack Martin on guitar, Kiki Solis on bass, and Ron Miller on drums. By the time the band recorded its first album, Dracula Boots, in 2009, Martin was out and Jesse Roberts had stepped in on guitar and keyboards. Kid Congo & the Pink Monkey Birds continued to tour regularly, racking up more miles than Powers had since the '90s, and they released Gorilla Rose in 2011 and Haunted Head in 2013. In 2016, Powers and the group delivered their fourth album, La Arana Es la Vida. The LP introduced a new Pink Monkey Birds lineup; Jesse Roberts parted ways with the band, and Powers recruited guitarist Mark Cisneros to fill the vacancy in the group.

These New South Whales

Australian punk icons These New South Whales hit the road for one final headline east coast run in 2023, bringing one of the country’s best-loved pub rock acts Drunk Mums and local enfant terribles Spunk and Itchy and the Nits along for the ride, before making an eagerly awaited return to Europe alongside critical punk agitators, Civic.

Following a massive sold-out national tour in support of their breakthrough third record, TNSW, the Melbourne punk auteurs return to the stage fresh from an all-time cover of Chumbawama’s ‘Tubthumping’ for triple j’s Like A Version and a scene-stealing performance at Yours & Owls Festival.

Debuting at #9 on the ARIA Australian album charts, TNSW’s self-titled third record furthers the band’s evolution from compelling Aussie basement punk into a more sprawling, international space, tying together influences from early ’90s alternative with their punk and hardcore roots. The set of songs finds the quartet leveling up immeasurably, receiving support across The FADER, DIY, NME, The Line of Best Fit, and MOJO, the latter of whom wrote in their review of the record that "it's not even funny how comprehensively they kick the ass of most other contemporary punk-leaning ensembles."

Their hit Comedy Central show – touted as “the punk Flight of the Conchords” (NME) and “the best mockumentary since Spinal Tap” (Monster Children) – saw them become the first Australian band to develop their own TV series and license it to a cable television network. And their podcast What A Great Punk ended its debut year inside Spotify’s top five music podcasts before going on to do a sold-out live run at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2022. While their reputation as all-round entertainers grows, though, their music has long outgrown the comedy label that defined their formative years.

Now “premier punk outfit” isn’t just the cocky phrase the band uses to describe themselves in their mockumentary – it’s a real-life statement of fact.

RedHook

RedHook are an Australian rock band from Sydney, who formed in 2017. The band consists of lead vocalist Emmy Mack, guitarist Craig Wilkinson, drummer Alex Powys, and bassist Ned Jankovic.

Their debut EP Bad Decisions was released on 23 April 2021. A debut studio album, Postcard from a Living Hell, is expected to release in April 2023.

Armed with their long-awaited debut album 'Postcard From A Living Hell' Eora/Sydney-based alt-rock force RedHook will be heading around Australia this May on their biggest national headline tour to date.

They'll be bringing their unforgettable live show packed with moshpit pillow fights saxophone circle pits powerful moments big singalongs special guests and plenty of surprises to fans in the Sunshine Coast Brisbane Gold Coast Bunbury Perth Adelaide Canberra Melbourne Wollongong Newcastle and Sydney with support from Melbourne heavy rock sensations Bad/Love Melbourne post-harcore favourites Belle Haven and Sydney pop-punk rising stars Grenade Jumper.

Alice and the Slags

The Slags are a Melbourne based band made of Melbourne based filth. The songs are silly punk numbers that are sure to have you laughing, dancing, and slagging off.

New single “Ought” is one of those chapters, of the track Cody says, “This was the last song written for the EP and felt like the perfect ending for the chapter of my life that I wanted to write about. It’s about friend breakups, and basically me venting my anger about how someone had hurt me but also trying to move on. It’s a pretty pointed song towards someone and I hope they hear it.”

underlay combines jangly guitars, analogue synths, and introspective yet brazenly honest lyrics to create his self-described brand of “nervous pop.” After working behind the scenes in the studio or appearing on stage for acts such as Fritz, OILBARON, Chakra Efendi, and fellow Nettwerk artist Vacations, Cody released his self-titled solo EP in 2021. underlay touches on sounds reminiscent of bands like Smith Westerns, Beach Fossils, The Strokes, and Girls. His live shows bring a DIY energy and sound underpinned with dry humor. He has recently toured alongside acts including Slowly Slowly, Stand Atlantic, and Stumps.
