Emma Heeney launches her second solo album, 'After the Fireworks' at the Junk Bar on August 15th. Produced by J. Walker (Paul Kelly, Machine Translations, Clare Bowditch), 'After The Fireworks' was recorded over seven months at the General Store in South Gippsland. 'Her voice is so pure and delicate, and no one sings a sad song as beautifully' writes Inpress' Jeff Jenkins. He's right. Heeney is truly in her element with this fresh batch of songs, and with the help of some of Melbourne's finest musicians, there is no doubt this is her finest work to date. The captivating Sophie Koh (who recently toured China and Singapore and had her song 'One Thing Leads to Another' premiere on Grey's Anatomy in the US in May) will kick things off, showcasing some new tunes, before Heeney takes to the stage with a band of Melb/Bris special guests including Sophie Koh, Mardi Lumsden and Charles Dugan. Emma Heeney is a singer-songwriter based in Melbourne, Australia. After parting ways with indie folk band Gorgeous in 2005, she began her solo endeavours.
