NICK CARVER & THE MEAN STREET BUTCHERS

Nick Carver: It's been a long time since any of us have played The Espy! Back in the day, Chris and Nick held many a residency in the front bar with their band The Object - Lesson, before playing one last show in the basement in 2008. We can't wait to bring the Mean St Butchers to the basement stage!

Having released our second album this year, and being booked for a swagger of summer festivals, we'll be playing a special St Kilda headline show post footy season. And we're bringing our good mates The Kids Next Door. AND IT'S FREE ENTRY!

Combining rough-edged rock and soulful blues with walloping Americana folk roots , Nick Carver & the Mean Street Butchers have unleashed the beast with their eagerly anticipated sophomore album ‘ANIMALS’ - out now.

With outlandish singer-songwriter Nick Carver leading the charge, the Melbourne-based (Inverloch, VIC) rock/ roots outfit has been showcasing their class in the lead-up to this ultimate body of work, serving up singles ‘Two-Legged Dog’ and ‘The Way That You Walk’ earlier in the year.

Now, Nick Carver & the Mean Street Butchers have brought it all together with an 8-track collection of artistically crafted tunes that reflect the band’s camaraderie, Nick’s home life and the long country drives where his inspiration is uninhibited, and his imagination is free to roam wild.

"It has a gorgeous dirty country blues feel to it, with big earthy guitars and rough-edged vocals. It’s foot-stomping, it’s a riot, yet comforting and personal." (AU Review)

"The Way That You Walk is a smooth and moody piece that is rolling with bright keys, rolling brushed drums and Nick Carvers swoony vocal delivery." (AAA Backstage)

"Searing soulful sludgy blues! That slide is getting a thrashing and sounds amazing. Love the brooding swamp this one's rising up from. Unbeatable stompable rhythm." [About 'Two Legged Dog'] (Steph Hughes, Triple J)

"I'm glad I'm wearing boots while listening because I felt the intense need to stomp."
[About 'Two Legged Dog'] (Stacy Gougoulis, Triple J)

"Blow me down and let rip Nick! This is the kind of grit I can sink my teeth into."
[About 'The Way That You Walk'] (Kath Devaney, Triple J)

The Infernos

The exciting rockabilly trio The Infernos are bringing a burning new energy in the Australian music scene with their unique ‘pommiebilly’ sound.

The Infernos were formed by Don Wycherley a bassist/singer/songwriter from the UK. Don enlisted the help of drummer David Rogers and guitarist Rob Citroni, and decided to hit the Australian rockabilly scene with their 80s influenced neo-rockabilly. With this classic three-piece set up, The Infernos can be seen and heard playing their style of up-tempo, back-beat-driven rockabilly at festivals and major events all around the country.

Since their inception, the trio have released two albums "On Fire" in 2011 and "Still Fired Up" in 2014. The band formed with influences from The Deltas, The Polecats, Restless and The Jets. The Infernos repertoire is a smokin' hot collection of original songs and obscure covers performed with a modern day energy and fiery attitude.

Queen Forever Australia

As a lifelong fan and devotee to the music of Queen, Gareth Hill had dreamed of playing the part of Freddie in a live show, ever since Freddie’s untimely and premature death in 1991. It was with great trepidation that he approached this task, knowing that a less than stellar representation of Queen’s magic would not be acceptable. It had to be brilliant!

Queen Forever, The Australian Queen Tribute Show was formed in 2006. After a few line up changes, hundreds of rehearsals and countless hours of planning & preparation, the band was finally ready in late 2008. And the results were simply spectacular!

With the technical brilliance of the original Queen replicated to a tee and a stage show that brings the brilliance and magic of Queen alive like no other, Queen Forever: The Australian Queen Tribute Show are simply the best sounding, best looking and most technically accurate Queen Tribute anywhere in the world!

The formula is simple. Sound like Queen, perform like Queen, look like Queen and have a hell of a lot of fun doing it!

Gareth Hill as Freddie Mercury has to be seen to be believed. His mind blowing vocal range, stage antics and amazing likeness for Freddie Mercury are a sight and sound to behold!

Scotty Hotpants as the inimitable Brian May replicates the licks of Brian with such accuracy that even die-hard fans are left amazed! The trusty Red Special by his side, Vox AC30 amp to pump out that huge sound, curly mop to match and a lanky stature to boot, you’ll have to look (and listen) twice…

The ever reliable bass player of the band is played by Darryn McLaughlin… Let’s just say that the staid and sensible John Deacon is played to perfection.

Queen’s drummer, Roger Taylor had a style which cannot be mistaken and Brad Hodge as Roger doesn’t miss a beat… With a replica of the Wembley ’86 drumkit, the blond locks, Raybans and attitude to go with it, it’s ‘almost’ Roger Taylor in the flesh!!

So if it’s Queen you want? It’s Queen you can have!!!

Check out our Tour Dates and come along for a show you will never forget!!
