In January 2011, electronic masterminds Shpongle will arrive in Australia for two very special concerts, proudly presented by inthemix. The full ten-piece ensemble – led by founding members Raja Ram and Simon Posford – is set to play prestigious theatre venues in Melbourne and Sydney over one January weekend.
Seeing Shpongle live is an exceedingly rare experience. It’s hard enough bringing together all ten musicians in the UK or Europe, so this visit is a coup worth celebrating. With a set-up that includes cello, drums, keys and a range of ethnic and Eastern instruments to bring that unique Shpongle rush to life, the performances are sure to leave fans wowed. As well as classic material, the shows will incorporate new material from Shpongle’s 2012-slated fifth album. Expect a sensory experience like no other.
