Catherine Britt & Lachlan Bryan

The first offering from The Pleasures (Catherine Britt and Lachlan Bryan’s new outfit) is “The Beginning of the End”. Americana twang meets dirty rock n roll on this sassy single with its themes of mischief and recklessness - the perfect antidote for these austere times. Britt and Bryan’s perfectly matched vocals holler over a stomping, swaggering band, leaving us in no doubt that The Pleasures have come out swinging!

A 70s-psychedelia inspired music video accompanies the single, and it’s filled with the energy and intensity you can expect at The Pleasures’ upcoming live shows.

While Catherine and Lachlan already have established careers, this collaboration which began with a late-night sms exchange, quickly ascended into a feverish fortnight of writing and recording. The project represents a significant stylistic shift for both artists. Their debut album is already in the can and is set for release later in 2022.

“Lachlan and I have always clicked in life and in song” explains Catherine, “and we’ve always had an unspoken understanding and respect for one another. These songs came so easy - they flowed out of us like a raging stream. I just want more honest, real music in the world, and I couldn’t think of a better person to make it with!”

“I don’t think know anyone else who feels and understands country music the way Catherine does”, says Lachlan. “She sounds authentic because she is authentic. When she opens her mouth and sings you can hear the neon lights buzzing, you can taste the tequila and you can barely see for the cloud of smoke. It’s all that stuff that people try and fake – they try and put in on – but it’s like she was just born with it”.

“The Beginning of the End” was released January 21 2022 through Beverley Hillbilly Records via MGM Distribution.

The Pleasures will play their first shows in February at the following venues:

Wednesday 9th February – The Grant Junction Hotel – Maitland NSW

The Mojo Corner

THE MOJO CORNER

Together now for more than 10 years, The Mojo Corner are a tight knit unit of great friends and musicians that are continuing to grow and develop their sound. Never sitting still they have a reputation for tight and energetic live shows. The songs written are from a time that is theirs and are straight from the heart. Not tied down to one genre.

They are Rock. They are Roots. They are Blues. They have Soul.

There has definitely been ups and downs over the years with a few line-up changes along the way, but with new layers of keys and backing vocals has lifted the music to a new level. The boys have released 3 albums including Whole Lotta Woman, Trouble, and Bullet On A Train. They have recently released a live EP “Live at Manorism Studio” both as audio and as a visual experience that shows the true essence of the band. A new album in now in the making too.

They have toured around Australia over the years and have played hundreds of gigs including Queenscliff Music Festival, Echuca Winter Blues Festival, Bendigo Blues and Roots Festival, Blues On Broadbeach, and also Woodford Folk Festival. The Mojo Corner have played along side and supported many fantastic well known Australian artists along their journey too.

The journey is still a reality and with it, new life breathed into a collective to deliver more. A little rough around the edges, always up for a beer, we are ready for a good time.

It’s always about the music.

Start Making Sense

If David Byrne is one of the geniuses of modern times, then Start Making Sense is a tribute to genius. The musicians in this 7-10 piece Talking Heads Tribute take pride in faithfully recreating the music of Talking Heads entire career. Together they bring much of the Heads unique live show to the stage, with front man Jon Braun as a spot-on David Byrne, giving you a "once in a lifetime" experience. Prepare yourself for a rockin', funkin', danceable celebration of the new-wave art punk you loved from the 80's !!!

Pete Campbell

Campbell's blend of folk, blues and country aligns him with modern Americana but it's clear his influences are wide ranging, from iconic artists such as Joni Mitchell, Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, The Beatles and The Allman Brothers to contemporary songwriters such as Paul Kelly, Neil Finn and Bernard Fanning.

Campbell's songs are a sidewalk cafe, a mood, a glimpse in the mirror. His voice is authentic and intimate, floating with a warmth and a country quality filtered through urban dust. Campbell will release his debut EP in 2022.
