Like a faithful lemming or a moth to a flame, singer-songwriter and multi-intrumentalist Sam Cooper joined the scores of young adults migrating to Portland from around the country in January 2007, partly for the city's renowned music scene, partly for the refreshingly gloomy weather, but primarily because 'porte' means 'door' in French. Since relocating to Oregon, Sam has performed regularly as a solo act, taken local stages as a bassist with Invisible Rockets, and toured nationally as a banjoist/etc with Horse Feathers.
