Sydney’s much-hyped class of ’03 has lost another graduate, with Red Riders announcing they’ve decided to call it quits for goods. Writing on their website, the band said that after eight “immensely fun years” together, they’ve decided to bow out.“We're all still the closest of friends, but just feel like the entity that is Red Riders has run its course,” the statement read, “Rather than grind something that's special to us into the ground, we'd like to call it quits while we can still stand proudly behind everything that we've made together.”Formed by Alex Grigg and Adrian Deutsch, Red Riders played their first gig at a backyard party in inner-city Sydney in 2003. They released their debut album Replica Replica through Ivy League in 2006, touring extensively, before Deutsch left the band in 2008 to pursue a solo career (he was replaced by Brad Heald from The Vines). Red Riders are a four piece band from Sydney, Australia. They play an angular indie sort of music, and have released their first album, Replica Replica, to much critical acclaim.
