Jack Gray

Jack Gray (born 23 June 1998) is an Australian singer and songwriter. Gray gained recognition with the release of his first single in 2017 titled ‘Red Rental Car'.

Gray started his career in 2017 with the release of his debut song ‘Red Rental Car’ which gained him mass recognition as an up-and-coming indie artist. Another one of his songs that gained mass acclaim was ‘My Hands’ that conceptualized the idea of sexual benefits outweighing unhealthy relationships. Jack Gray has also been featured on tour in the US, UK and Europe with Dean Lewis.

In July 2022, Jack Gray toured Australia and New Zealand with Canadian pop sensation Tate McRae in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Auckland, with all shows sold out.

Maple Glider

Maple Glider is the project of singer/songwriter Tori Zietsch (sounds like peach). Hailing from Lismore and schooled in Brisbane, she now lives in Naarm/Melbourne and released her debut album 'To Enjoy is the Only Thing' in June 2021.

Her second album 'I Get Into Trouble' is out October 13th 2023, including singles "Don't Kiss Me" and "Dinah", and the new released Double A-Side "You At The Top Of The Driveway" / "You're Gonna Be A Daddy" (focus track).
She'll be touring Australia's East Coast this November.
Maple Glider has sold out two debut London headline shows this September. Her first LP earned over 22M streams, and had her performing on NPR's Tiny Desk At Home, and Colbert's #PlayAtHome series.

Old Mervs

Best mates since the age of 5, Henry and David grew up together on farms in Kojonup, a tiny town approximately halfway between Perth and Albany, converting an old stable into their first jam space.

The two piece are stoked to announce their latest single, 'Be There'.

“This was a song that I had been sitting on for almost a year before we took it to the studio,” says David. “It started off as a pretty slow mellow tune that was probably a reflection of the time I was writing it, being winter and stuck in the house for long periods of time. In the studio we naturally tried to make it more upbeat and more of a song we’d like to play live. That’s kind of been our goal for most of the song writing we do.”

Recorded with Dave Parkin at Blackbird studios in Perth, Henry says Parkin's history & the results of this recording speak for themselves.

“The studio environment with Parko was something else, and that in itself was a huge factor in the recording process & what we got out of it."

Ghost Care

Pulling inspiration from a Creedence Clearwater Revival track, Ghost Care have unveiled their new single ‘Arcade’, a indie-rock synth-infused heater about the teamwork, unison & collaboration needed from both partners to form a successful relationship. Singer Beau Torrance’s depiction of the “game” of love as something both spouses need to work together to “win” is woven throughout the lyrics of ‘Arcade’. The back-and-forth between dual singers Beau Torrance & Tanaya Harper is heard all round the track, leading listeners on a journey & placing them at the center of the emotional partnership.

Alongside the release of ‘Arcade’, the band will be celebrating the song with a headline tour, returning back to the East Coast after a successful stint with fellow Perth darlings Spacey Jane earlier this year. Ghost Care will be kicking off the run at Badlands Bar, Perth, before hitting a slew of East Coast shows across one weekend in Melbourne, Brisbane & Sydney. Although a quick jaunt, the band are excited to continue building their connection with fans both in & outside of Perth.

Quivers

Sam, Bella, Michael and Holly are Quivers, a band which make cathartic guitar pop that jangles and shimmers somewhere between 1980s Australia and 1990s America and somehow sounds like the present. Started in Hobart before moving to Melbourne, the band first toured their life-damaged but hopeful debut, We'll Go Riding on the Hearses (Hotel Motel Records) around Australia, Canada and NZ. It lyrically deals with love and loss after losing a brother in a free-diving accident. It found its way to NPR’ Music's cult-favourite All Songs Considered who said it “turned an unimaginable tragedy into a celebration of spirit that ranks among the year's better rock albums”. NPR named Quivers a Slingshot “Best Emerging Artist” and put next single, “You’re Not Always On My Mind” on their Austin 100 SXSW preview, whilst KEXP’s John Richards described it as one of the best songs he’d heard “in years” and invited the band to perform a filmed live session in their studio. “You’re Not Always On My Mind” went on to be the most played of 2019 on KEXP’s morning show.

Live, Quivers are in their element. Austin 360 described the band as “evidence of Australia’s strength at the (SXSW) fest this year, a co-ed act … with instantly memorable choruses and a vocal sweep that sometimes included all members singing”. So far the band has performed at Dark MOFO, Panama, By The Meadow, Mullum & Grampians Music Festivals, as well as supported the likes of Holy Holy, Angie McMahon and Cloud Control. Following the SXSW2020 that never was, and the cancellation of their first 21-date tour of the USA (due to Covid-19) Quivers released their take on R.E.M’s Out of Time, commissioned by Seattle based label, Turntable Kitchen in December of 2020. Quivers are now set to release their second album in June of 2021, triumphantly and tentatively called, Golden Doubt via beloved indie labels, Spunk Records (AU/NZ), Ba Da Bing Records (US/UK) and Bobo Integral (EU/ASIA).

PIERCE BROTHERS

Returning from a triumphant tour overseas, indie-folk favourites the Pierce Brothers are set to celebrate their international successes with their largest Australian tour to date, from September through to the end of the year.

A humble beginning busking on the street has paved the way for the brothers to become the hardworking, international touring artists they are today. Having progressed from playing Bourke Street Mall to playing a record breaking 5 sold out shows at Melbourne’s Shebeen, they also sold out shows in London and performed to a monster crowd of 10,000+ punters at Lowlands Festival in The Netherlands. They were the second highest selling act at Lowlands Music Festival merch tent, which was beyond expectations for everyone involved, considering the massive lineup. Yes, It’s Melbourne’s own Pierce Brothers that have exploded onto the international scene over the last few months and Australia should be very, very proud.

Whilst in the Netherlands, the energetic duo was invited to play on 3FM Radio to officially open the Lowlands Festival. To an audience of 1.5million listeners, the Pierce Brothers put their stamp on Lorde’s ‘Tennis Court’ complete with a didgeridoo solo, a Calvin Harris sing-along and more than a few of the boys’ trademark yelps and howls! Watch the footage here.

With The Night Tree EP released earlier this year and debuting at #1 on the AIR Album chart and #21 on the ARIA Album Chart, the unstoppable Pierce Brothers are excited to announce a run of shows back on Australian soil including slots at AWME, Big Sound, Caloundra Music Festival and Gorgeous Fest.

"Pierce Brothers have exploded as one of Australia’s must-see up-and-coming live acts. Their DIY approach sees them functioning entirely independently, free from major labels, the duo have now sold over a staggering 25,000 CDs, featured in NME and blown audiences away at sell-out shows from Melbourne and Sydney to London and Liverpool"

Tone Deaf

A nice piece of folk music, this one. Catchy, with vocals and harmonies that fit perfectly in the tune."

Sarah Howells (Triple J)

"These guys thrive on the stage and the amount of energy they bring to a show is simply amazing."

Timber and Steel

"Like a next-generation John Butler Trio, Pierce Brothers have nothing but greatness ahead."

Bones and Jones

Five-piece Victorian based alt rock’n roll band Bones and Jones are well renowned for their unique brand of infectiously memorable songwriting and impressively tight live show. With two albums and a collaborative EP with Folk Bitch Trio to their name, the band’s output matches the frenetic energy of their live show which has seen them support notable artists including King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, The Nude Party (USA), The Murlocs, Twin Peaks (USA) and appear at festivals including Port Fairy Folk Festival, Meadow, Boogie Festival and more.

Forming during highschool in Victorian town Geelong and now based out of an old apple orchard on the Victorian surf coast/Wathaurong Country the band draws inspiration from the landscape that surrounds them and their decade long friendships within the band. Their blend of country tinged vintage rock is coupled with a contemporary energy that allows them to feel familiar without being stuck in a revivalist pigeonhole. This impressive melting pot of sounds and memorable hooks has been recognised by NME, The Guardian, Triple J and has seen the band’s most recent album Ginger Gold (Farm Singles) nominated for the prestigious Australian Music Prize and Victorian Music Awards.

With their most recent single ‘My Friend’ the band’s ability to write endearing, hook-filled rock music has reached a new peak and is the perfect example of the emotive power that their songs have. This new double single release shows a band reaching new heights and is a sign of the sonic maturity that is to come on their upcoming new album.

Club Angel

22-year-old Eora/Sydney-based producer and DJ Club Angel today announces his signing to Astral People Recordings (Milan Ring, Wave Racer, Skeleten) and shares his debut single, ‘Control Dem’.

Today’s signing announcement harks back to the roots of the Eora/Sydney-based label, management and touring company. “The sounds of UKG and Bassline play a very important part in the history of Astral People, some of our early shows we promoted were debut tours for legends like DJ EZ and DJ Q, so we're very excited to be finally bringing this world to our label with Club Angel,” explains Astral People co-founder Tom Huggett. “There's definitely a real club resurgence taking place globally right now and we feel like Club Angel is an artist and DJ who can hold his own on any dancefloor.”

“Since day dot we’ve been blown away by the music,” shares Zachary Hamilton-Reeves, who, alongside John Halstead, forms one half of Club Angel’s management team Seven Seven Music. “For us it’s been about finding the right partners who are as big a fans as we are. We are very excited about Club Angel’s signing to our friends Astral People. It’s a classic pairing, with Astral's strong history in dance music and Club Angel’s beyond-his-years approach to it.”

Heavily inspired by late 90s UK dance music, Club Angel explores the moodier side of 2-Step, Jungle and Garage with tight drums, sampled orchestral stabs and melancholic vocals. ‘Control Dem’ bursts forth with lively, syncopated percussion, warbling sub-bass and infectious vocal hooks, a remarkably self-assured, impossible-to-hold-down introduction to the Club Angel project, a gun-fingers-in-the-air workout of rhythmic dexterity and melodic stickiness.

On the new track, Club Angel shares, “I initially wrote ‘Control Dem’ back in 2020 when I was still trying to find my sound, and it felt like a real eureka moment for me. I can vividly remember how excited I was after throwing that vocal on the initial idea, must’ve listened to the same 16 bar loop 100 times!”

Previously performing and releasing music under his own name, Gabriel Espinosa has long established himself as a prodigious fixture in Sydney’s underground electronic scene, having produced for the likes of ASTA, Colin Haye, Hey! Astro and more, receiving airplay on FBi Radio (who highlighted the then-18 year-old as their Independent Artist of the Week) and 2SER, and recently remixing Fred Again..’s ‘Hannah (The Sun)’. ‘BIG’, his track with Boy Soda, was also added to rotation at FBi Radio and garnered airplay across triple j, CADA, 4ZZZ, 3RRR, Double J and more.
