As a solo performer, he delivers a uniquely crafted sound on guitar and audio processing tools, reducing musical material to its minimal core and building passages of improvisation with the rich, essential timbre that remains. Informed by an astute knowledge of musical history, with a particular penchant for outer-adventurist sounds, Ambarchi’s music is definitively modern and boundary pushing while maintaining an incredibly articulate and emotive sound.
