Born and based in Meanjin/Brisbane, First Beige draws upon jazzy colours, textural synth layers and interwoven vocal harmonies backed by driving house and Latin-inspired rhythms. The five-piece have continued to solidify themselves as one of the most eclectic, transportive and vibrant live acts to come out of Brisbane in recent years. First Beige bounded through 2022, releasing their debut album ‘Doplar’ in May 2022 & Touring the UK in August. Constantly evolving their sound, their music has caught the eye of many including Brownswood Recordings/Worldwide FM’s Gilles Peterson, giving First Beige multiple spins on his BBC 6 Radio programme & more. In 2020, opening Brisbane’s Laneway Festival, performing at ‘We Out Here’ (UK) Party in the Paddock, A Festival Called Panama and Nine Lives Festival. Since then First Beige have performed at Big Pineapple Festival, sold out The Tivoli, The Zoo and performed alongside fellow groove kings Mildlife, Jordan Rakei, Bradley Zero & Last Dinosaurs.
