One of Australia’s most exciting live performers and popular recording artists, Greg Gould has achieved global success with over 20 million views of his award-winning music videos and number one album '1998', his powerhouse vocals and charisma on both stage and screen have fostered a genuine connection to his audience as he continues to break new ground exploring his artistry.
A natural born performer, Greg has been a consistent member of Australia’s musical landscape since becoming the runner up of ‘Australia’s Got Talent’ in 2013. Since then Greg's career has gone from strength to strength touring the world to sold out shows with and featuring in numerous international festivals, including headlined events like the 'Full Moon Fest' in New York City, the 'Sydney Mardi Gras' official after party and Hamburg Pride, where Gould's self penned song 'Today' was chosen and performed as the Official Anthem 2017.
Gould's list of hits is ever-expanding with one of his biggest releases being a celebrated version of the 1996 En Vogue smash hit ‘Don’t Let Go’ selling over 30,000 copies worldwide and topping the charts globally including Italy, Bulgaria, Australia and the UK where it skyrocketed up the Spotify UK Viral Charts. His self-directed music video for 'Don't Let Go' also went viral with more than 20 million views and catching the eye of the original songwriter Ivan Matias. Ivan shared the arrangement with Maxine Jones, lead singer of En Vogue, who echoed Ivan's high praise for Greg's work, proclaiming his version gave her ‘goosebumps’. Maxine and Greg then went onto re-release Greg's arrangement of the track as a duet and the two embarked on an international tour together in 2017.
Greg has also been a judge with Ronan Keating on the Channel 7 television show ‘All Together Now’. Coinciding with that role, Greg joined forces with Australia’s most iconic indigenous performer Christine Anu to release a special version of ‘Without You’ from the Broadway musical Rent. Greg has been honoured by ACON for his work in combatting the stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS and using his passion, his voice and art to stand up for the LGBTI community earning Greg multiple nominations at the Australian LGBTI Awards.
Greg released his much-anticipated album ‘1998’ in April 2020 to critical and commercial acclaim, debuting at Number One on the Australian Charts. The album contains 17 reimagined hits from the year 1998 with collaborations including Damien Leith, Rhonda Burchmore, Inaya Day, Cosima De Vito, Katie Underwood, Zoe Badwi, Joanne, Lynne McGranger, Tania Doko and the Choirboys frontman Mark Gable. The album caught the attention of Dame Olivia Newton-John who sent Gould a heartfelt video message after he dedicated the album to his late step mother Sharon who lost her battle with cancer during the making of the album, all profits of 1998 go to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre.
'The Boy Is Mine' (the lead single from 1998) features Home and Away actor Lynne McGranger in Gould's self-directed music video, delivering a strong Anti-Bullying message which amassed over 200,000 views and was placed on high rotation by MTV in 64 countries globally. The track is a collaboration with X-Factor UK finalist Peyton and charted at #7 on the Official UK Commercial Pop Charts.
‘Love Like This’, the opening track from 1998, a collaboration with iconic vocalist Inaya Day (USA) was chosen as the Official Anthem for Sydney Pride 2020. In June 2020, Gould was then selected to represent Sydney at the inaugural Global Pride 2020 festival, performing with Inaya and sharing the bill with Todrick Hall, Melanie C, Kesha, LeAnn Rimes, Olivia Newton-John, Elton John, Deborah Cox and Adam Lambert.
