After playing the main stage at Splendour in the Grass, plus supporting The Strokes and Foals on their Australian tours, Gypsy & The Cat will be back in Australia next month to play the national Parklife festivals plus their own shows on the ‘Time To Wander’ tour this September and October.
Currently being spun on radio across the country, ‘Time To Wander’ is a taste of the Melbourne duo’s debut album GILGAMESH, to be released in October this year.
Signed directly to Sony RCA in the UK, the duo of 22-year-old Xavier Bacash and 24-year-old Lionel Towers only began making music together a year ago in a garage in Melbourne. After writing, performing and producing their debut album themselves, Gypsy & The Cat enlisted David Fridmann (of Mercury Rev fame and producer of MGMT, Flaming Lips, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah to name a few) and Rich Costey (producer of amongst others, Muse, Mew, Franz Ferdinand, Glasvegas) for final mixing duties.
