Madigan’s Wake was formed in 2021 by brothers Albert and Damian Peck. Combining traditional Folk instruments with their music isn’t new but their powerful, driving style comes across as fresh and original.Their songs are narratives of Irish people who fought for justice, freedom and a life of opportunity.

This year sees the release of their debut album through the independent Melbourne record label, Headstone Records.

The Peck brothers come from strong Irish backgrounds and they followed the same path as many 2nd and 3rd generation Irish, listening to traditional Irish folk music from the Dubliners, Wolfe Tones, Irish Rovers and Planxty at home while getting into Punk music away from home.

Albert plays guitar, mandolin and Irish bouzouki and lead vocals.

On violin and tin whistle is Elly D’Arcy who also adds a number of lilting vocals to their fast-paced set.

Rob Benning plays basses, Nick Burke is behind the drum kit and Emily Booth sings and plays the bodhran.
