Melbourne-based psychedelic folk artist Dom Brinkley has just released his debut solo EP, 'Moonlight Dream'. After taking more of a blues route on the three standalone singles released in 2020, Dom has tapped into his folk sensibilities on his new EP, with empowering songs intertwined with the dreamy, sonic landscapes he conjures through his dazzling guitar playing.
Lead single 'Crying' has been described as 'mystical' and 'a bit of hallucinogenic magic' by Triple J broadcasters Nkechi Anele and Dave Ruby Howe, whilst opening track 'Little Sparks' has been compared to being 'like Leonard Cohen going psychedelic' (music blogger Jon Magnusson).
Atop a bed of acoustic guitar and Dom's raw vocals, the 'Moonlight Dream' EP weaves together layers of electric guitar, sitar and synths, to create a visual, meditative experience.
