Gareth Skinner has a very colourful musical history. Paying in some of the 90s most ‘out there’ acts (Bzark / Ergot Derivative) as well as being a go to guest musician for ARIA topping albums by Powderfinger, Bertie Blackman, Something For Kate, Gotye, Wagons and many more.
In recent years as well as being a full time member of The Sand Gareth Skinner has been developing a his own music. Resutling in Gareth’s debut band album Off // Axis. From a very wide range of musicians Gareth has hand picked a crème of Melbourne musicians to form this band – Sarah Blaby (Double Vanity), Ben Michael (The Sand Pebbles) and Drew Caldwell (Disaster Plan / Breather Hole) - with special the guest lead vocals/guitar of Joel Silbersher (HOSS / GOD etc).
The result is an album which cleverly crosses from elevated, grunge songs to Arthur Russell-esque minimalist pop. Kasumuen Records is very proud to present Gareth Skinner’s Off // Axis, being launched with his full band.
