Sing A Song of Sixpence

Songs are magical things: some fall suddenly from the ether, others are a slow labour of love. All songwriters say it. Everyone has heard it. Universally, they’re inspired from personal experiences and observations of life and human nature. In reverence of such alchemy, Delsinki presents “Sing a Song of Sixpence” - which brings the tradition of a writer's round to audiences. Artists share the bare bones of their songs and the stories behind them.

In an intimate and informal setting, it becomes poignant , and unpredictable. Audiences get an insight into the process and the magic, and feel closer to the songs as a result. A unique and entertaining heartfelt experience, with some of Australia's finest accompanying musicians sitting in on the show as well.

Mick Thomas

Following a hectic end to 2022 – including a full national tour supporting their brilliant Back In the Day EP (which was voted #6 Best Australian Album in the Rhythms Readers’ Poll even though it is not an album!) – Mick Thomas’ Roving Commission will release their new album Where Only Memory Can Find You on May 5 then head out on a national tour starting at the National Folk Festival in April.
Where Only Memory Can Find You marks the return to the fray of Mick’s former Weddings, Parties, Anything bandmate, violinist Jen Anderson – joining founding WPA accordion player Mark “Squeezebox Wally” Wallace in the Roving Commission ranks.

Adding to the bolstered female presence is the fact that, by some quirk of fate, six of the nine songs on the album are co-writes by Thomas with prominent Australian female singer-songwriters; two tracks with Amy Saunders from ‘90s Indigenous folk trio Tiddas, and one each with Saunders’ bandmate Lou Bennett, Oz country legend Sara Storer, Melbourne veteran Barb Waters, and Brooke Taylor, who also happens to be a recent addition to Mick’s Roving Commission.

Where Only Memory Can Find You takes its name from a line in one of Thomas’s most famous songs, “Away Away”, which he first recorded with Weddings Parties Anything in 1987, and which Mick and band reprise on the new album.

Pete Campbell

Campbell's blend of folk, blues and country aligns him with modern Americana but it's clear his influences are wide ranging, from iconic artists such as Joni Mitchell, Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, The Beatles and The Allman Brothers to contemporary songwriters such as Paul Kelly, Neil Finn and Bernard Fanning.

Campbell's songs are a sidewalk cafe, a mood, a glimpse in the mirror. His voice is authentic and intimate, floating with a warmth and a country quality filtered through urban dust. Campbell will release his debut EP in 2022.

Woody Pitney

With a career spanning more than a decade, Woody Pitney is already an established name in the world of music. Despite his amazing journey so far, his future burns brighter than ever!

Not to be mistaken for the lovechild of Woody Guthrie and Gene Pitney, the Australian Country/ Pop/Folk Singer-Songwriter has performed at festivals and toured extensively across Europe, Asia, USA and Australia, as well as achieved mainstream recognition on both a local and international scale in the past.

Having previously been signed to a major label after his song ‘Your Can Stay’ was synced on a major German TV

commercial, Woody was thrust into a world of big-scale live performances, media appearances and developing international business relations; “I had to learn a lot on the job at a young age, and the experience was invaluable for me... it helped me mature so much musically. I like to think that I more than held my own too!” Having previously been signed to a major label after his song ‘Your Can Stay’ was synced on a major German TV commercial, Woody was thrust into a world of big-scale live performances, media appearances and developing international business relations; “I had to learn a lot on the job at a young age, and the experience was invaluable for me... it helped me mature so much musically. I like to think that I more than held my own too!”

Nowadays, fully independent again, Woody’s focus is to make big waves on the Australian Country Music scene. With a swag of new songs that see him back in control of his own destiny, Woody is recharged and reinvigorated; “I feel like the shackles have been released after the past few Pandemic years, and I can really focus again on doing what I love; making country music!”

The self-confessed “half city, half country boy” divides his time between living in the hustle and bustle of Melbourne, as well as devoting his time to working on his family vineyard and making music in Mandurang - a small town South of Bendigo that is considered the literal geographical centre of Victoria.

Recently working on new releases with Nashville-based producer, Austin Moorhead (Carly Pearce, Maddy & Tae), Woody has been able to adapt the the modern world of remote collaboration, working on his projects between his home studio in country Victoria and Austin’s Tennessee studio.

A vivacious live performer, Woody is known for putting on highly engaging performances (not excluding stage dives and a lot of audience interaction) and has the ability to command the attention of a crowd whether he’s performing solo, or with his full band.

With an eclectic list of key influences, including Keith Urban, The War on Drugs, Elvis Presley and Powderfinger, Woody’s musical appreciation transcends across generations and spreads across the entire spectrum of popular music. Inspiration that filters through into his creative process.

With all the talent & charisma in the world... and the music to match, you can expect to see the name Woody Pitney up in lights for many years to come.

Minor Gold

Minor Gold are the new Americana-Folk duo featuring ARIA nominated artists Tracy McNeil & Dan Parsons.

Having shared hundreds of stages together for the better part of a decade as respective songwriters and performers, ‘Minor Gold’ is the first official glimpse of this new bonafide songwriting team.

Living in a van in 2020, Parsons and McNeil hightailed it out of Victoria and up to Queensland in two days, just in time to avoid being trapped for the Winter as the first lockdown occurred. Subsequently, the duo wrote the majority what would become their self-titled debut album, whilst holed up in the land of palm trees and perfect weather.

Their sound is replete with masterful harmonies, deft guitar playing with dynamics ranging from the intense restraint of campfire intimacy through to open throttle abandon. We hear the hedonistic groove of early 70’s cosmic Americana, the daydream haze of 60’s folk, and the power and romance of 80’s pop but despite the classic references of yore, it’s undeniably music written for the here and now.

Minor Gold showcased in Kansas City USA at Folk Alliance International before returning to debut live at

Port Fairy Folk Festival in March, followed by an extensive National Australian Tour.
