1) Were a Swindon, UK post-punk band active in the late 1980's, releasing two singles on RS Records, both in 1986, a 7" and a 12" respectively. A contemporary magazine, Melody Maker described them as 'The Cure meets The Cult'. Another magazine, Sounds, wrote: '...a cracking rock band in the rugged tense mode of Killing Joke and New Model Army'. 2) Ides of March are a deathcore band hailing from Perth, Australia. Born Nicholas David Kershaw in Bristol, England on March 1, 1958, Kershaw played guitar and sang in a number of underground bands before deciding on a career as a songwriter. However, he ended up performing his own songs rather than giving them to others, and signed a deal with MCA Records in 1983, which spawned a debut single, "I Won't Let The Sun Go Down On Me", which just missed out on the UK Top 40.

teenagersintokyo hail from Sydney, Australia, but are now based in London, UK. Their mix of dark pop has earned them a fearsome reputation, playing sell out shows with !!!, CSS, The Slits, Midnight Juggernauts and the Gossip amongst others. Last year they released their self-titled EP on Back Yard Recordings, the label responsible for finding internationally acclaimed bands Chromeo and Gossip. It was championed by Zane Lowe and the NME (who called it "peculiar and lovely") and sold out in both Australia and the UK.

Two groups are called The machines: (1) A Russian Electronic group created by Anton Neumark, on the ataraxy records label. (2) Brilliant Belgian melodic pop-group around Paul Despieghelaere from the beginning of the 1980's. Late in the seventies, the Gent-based Nestormartin renames itself to The Machines and wins the second edition of HUMO's Rock-Rally in 1980. They write music in the best tradition of the Beatles and Talking Heads.
