The Waifs

The Waifs (originally styled as The WAiFS) are an Australian folk rock band formed in 1992 in Albany, Western Australia, by Josh Cunningham (guitar, vocals), and sistersVikki Thorn (nÃ©e Simpson) (harmonica, guitar, vocals) and Donna Simpson (guitar, vocals). Their tour band includes Ben Franz (bass) and David Ross Macdonald (drums).

The band's 2003 album Up All Night reached the top five of the Australian Albums Chart, it achieved double platinum status and won four ARIA Awards in October. Two further top five albums were issued, Sun Dirt Water in 2007 and Temptation in 2011. The Waifs have three top fifty singles, "London Still" (2002), "Bridal Train" (2004) and "Sun Dirt Water". The band supported Bob Dylan on his 2003 Australian tour and then his 2003 North American tour, including a gig at the Newport Folk Festival.

The Waifs founded the independent label Jarrah Records in July 2002, co-owned with fellow musician John Butler, and their common manager Phil Stevens, which handles their Australian releases. Julia and The Deep Sea Sirens

Delicate tunes that float and dance in the air, sung by a girl with a voice which varies from a seductive whisper to a desperate cry. Julia and the Deep Sea Sirens started 18 months ago with just Julia and Yo (Johanna) stuffing around in music class during grade 12.

tUnE-yArDs is the moniker of Oakland-based musician Merrill Garbus. To date, she has two full-length studio albums and is currently signed to the British independent record label 4AD. She was formerly a member of Sister Suvi. Her debut album Bird-Brains was first released on limited edition vinyl and cassette in June 2009, via the Portland-based imprint Marriage Records. In July 2009, it was announced that tUnE-yArDs had signed to 4AD, and a limited edition pressing of BiRd-BrAiNs was released on August 17, 2009.

Mark Kozelek

Mark Kozelek was born and raised in Massillon, Ohio. Upon relocating to Atlanta, Georgia, he met drummer Anthony Koutsos. After the pair moved once again to San Francisco, California, Red House Painters formed with the addition of guitarist Gorden Mack and bassist Jerry Vessel. From 1992 to 1996, Red House Painters released a series of acclaimed albums, showcasing Kozelek's intense, highly autobiographical songs.

Holly Kirby

Holly Kirby is a singer-songwriter and musician from the Isle of Wight, England. Her YouTube channel, alpet07, which she set up aged 16 in 2007, is frequently one of the most viewed musician's sites on YouTube in the UK. In the past year much of Holly's work has been an eclectic mix of Celtic, folk and pop music. Donovan

Donovan is a Scottish singer-songwriter who emerged as part of the mid-1960s folk music scene. He was born Donovan Leitch on 10th May 1946 in Maryhill, Glasgow, Scotland; the family moved to Hatfield, England in 1956. Donovan came to fame in the United Kingdom in early 1965 with a series of live performances on the television pop series, Ready Steady Go! Donovan first hit the pop charts in 1965 with his single "Catch The Wind". He produced hit after hit throughout the sixties and his Sunshine Superman album was considered an innovative breakthrough to a new pyschedelic pop sound.
