Rise To Remain are a London-based 5 piece metal band. They were formed in late 2006/early 2007 by Ben Tovey, Will Homer and Austin Dickinson under the name “Halide” as a side project to several of the band’s members other endeavors in music. Within a few months the band solidified their line-up and began playing local shows as well as travelling across the UK, seeking out shows. Halide recorded two EP’s, both of which saw a viral release through their Myspace, which eventually garnered attention from more legitimate local promoters...
There are several artists with the name Elder: 1) Elder is 3 piece stoner doom band from Boston. They have a self-titled full-length album released in 2008, a second full-length album titled "Dead Roots Stirring", released 2011, both on MeteorCity records, and a split CD with Hong Kong's Queen Elephantine on Concrete Lo-Fi Records. <a href="http://www.myspace.com/beholdtheelder" rel="nofollow">www.myspace.com/beholdtheelder</a> 2) Elder is a Screamo band from Philadelphia who combine soft/hard and quiet/loud dynamics to build epic Screamo songs. They feature members from <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Towers">Towers</a> and <a href="http://www.last.fm/music/Balboa">Balboa</a> and have a 10" record and CD out on Forge Again Records.
Loma Prieta is a hardcore band, featuring members of Archeopteryx, Punch, Sailboats, Beau Navire and us, haunted bodies, that formed in San Francisco in 2005. Since formation, they have released four 12 inch records, and two 7 inch records (mostly on their own label), however their newest lp, "IV" is being released on Deathwish Records, home of bands such as Converge, Trap Them, and Touche Amore. Comadre is a band from Redwood City (a suburb of San Francisco), California, comprising of former members of Heartcrosslove, One's Own Ruin, and Light This City. Their sound is an off-shoot of hardcore and punk played fast and chaotic with an abundance of energy, but also a large focus on melody and tunefulness. Their influences can perhaps best be shown by the covers the band has performed live, by groups such as Rites of Spring, Refused, Kid Dynamite, and Suicide File.
Screamo band from the Czech Republic playing melodic HC. They call their style as screamo-heartcore, because the roots of this music are based on the HC scene, which was the matter of the heart for many musicians, who wanted to go their own way, create your own unique style. There are at least three bands with this name: "Broadway(FL) burst back into the scene in 2007 with the release of their self titled EP. Recorded and produced by Lee Dyess (From First to Last,Chasing Victory, Mayday Parade) the cd showcases the many sides of the band. The powerful drums are the backbone to the cd, and the guitars and vocals can only be described as melodic yet intense. The EP is lined with music that goes from a beautiful masterpiece, to a creative and unique destruction in a matter of seconds, all while somehow keeping the focus on the catchy vocals.
We are a band from Brisbane, Australia We have a cd-ep, split 7" and a 12" and have 11 songs to record in the second week of may this year (2010). Influences were much more solid in the beginning and although we are still very much inline with them we now listen to absolutely anything we can get our hands on. Every Time I Die is a five-piece southern metal band from Buffalo, New York, founded in the winter of 1998. Though popularly classified as hardcore, Every Time I Die's sound also contains strong elements of metalcore, southern rock and mathcore. Beginning with a noisy, chaotic sound close to mathcore they increasingly added fat grooves and twin leads to the mix with each release. Also of note are Keith Buckley's intelligent and often cryptic lyrics. The band announced on July 14, 2008 that they have left Ferret Music and have recently signed with Epitaph.
Sienna Skies are a six-piece Experimental/Post-Hardcore act from the city of Sydney. Forming early March 2006, the boys started out with a clear passion and mindset to create an electrifying sound they could call their own and expose it to as many ears as possible.
Since their inception into the music world the band has seen great development in their writing, live performance and individual musicality.
